Job title: Import Freight Forwarder
Crossborder Logistics Ltd is on the lookout for an experienced freight forwarder to join our team.
This role will be predominantly import focused and you will be responsible for all elements within the life cycle of a shipment. Starting with the initial enquiry, onboarding of the client and quotation through to liaising with international agents, suppliers, shipping lines and airlines to ensure the best possible experience for our clients.

Therefore it is important that you have good communication skills through a number of different channels such as telephone and email and can cope well under pressure and during peak times to ensure the customer experience meets their expectations.
You will be able to effectively manage your own time and workload as well as working as part of a team to support and ensure our workloads are up to date and no one is left behind.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients
- Obtain pricing from suppliers/systems and provide quotations to clients
- Prepare and make bookings with overseas agents and partners
- Book shipments into freight software, ensuring accuracy so client can see up to date information on their portal.
- Prepare customs instructions for entry submission
- Provide clients with updates of shipment ETD/ETA’s and anticipated final mile delivery date
- Pull together all information from agents/partners/clients and upload to freight software
- Provide Clients with notification of shipment arrivals requesting relevant documentation in advance of the arrival date.
- Raise and send freight & VAT/duty invoices to clients in a timely manner
- Liaise with our third-party warehouses to ensure all freight is received and processed accurately and in good time.
- Any other requirements to ensure the business and all shipments run smoothly.
Preferred experience:
- Multimodal freight forwarding experience – both import and export
- Ability to understand and build quotations for our clients
- Understanding of customs clearance including HTS codes & valuation.
- e-commerce marketplace experience would be extremely beneficial.
- Good IT skills and experience in using Microsoft Office, BoxTop freight software experience beneficial.
